O Christmas Tree

Every year we have made it a tradition, to go and see the big Christmas Tree lit in downtown Portland the day after Thanksgiving. The local new cast is there and a live band leading Christmas Carols. The first 2 years we were right in front, just beneath the tree. This was the 4th year we have gone, and by far, the busiest and most crowded out of them all. We couldn't even cross the street to the side where the tree, not to mention the police cars blocking many blocks. I'm thinking that with tight wallets due to the economy, more and more people are trying to find cheap or free things to do. Which I am all for- but it was soooooo packed down there, that we are hesitant to do it next year. All in all, we had a great time. Our good friends Kristen and Ely were in town after recently getting engaged so we all went down together and made a night of it.

Nick and his WSU Couger beanie... some may wonder if his wardrobe pallet consists of anything other than crimson and gray...

I love Owen's face. He had just learned how to say "cheese" and I think it's hilarious that his whole face says "cheese." Way too cute!!

Kristen and Ely... what a cute couple! Congrats and happy planning!!

This was what we saw in the back seat not more than 2 minutes into the car ride. We had gone to Rock Bottom for dinner and he had eaten so much that it was no surprise to see this.
