Backyard Phase 1

We started a MASSIVE project in April to improve our backyard. It started out with us just wanting to put in a garden... but as we thought about what we could do in other places, we decided that since we won't be taking a vacation this year, we would put the money into our yard so we could enjoy spending more time out there!! ;)

To make a long story short, we have excavated, rotatilled, dropped and transplanted trees and jack hammered the patio. So when I say "we" I don't actually mean "me" at all. Nick and his brother and dad have helped, along with many of our friends when putting up the retaining walls. We aren't done by any means, but we have come a long ways.

Once the bigger things were done we went to a local nursery and bought many plants, flowers and trees. This is where I finally get to do some working! And Owen too!! He thinks he is the biggest helper. Especially with "weeding" and "moving" the small rocks from the pile we put them in, to the yard where the grass is growing. :)
